Victron BatteryProtect 12/24V-100A

$90.95

The BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non essential loads before it is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before it has insufficient power left to crank the engine.

The BatteryProtect is a uni-directional device. It can only deal with current in one direction, so either current to a load, or current from a charger, but not both currents at the same time. In addition to this, current only can only flow from the Battery terminal to the Load terminal. In case of use with a load, the battery connects to the Battery terminal, and in case of use with a charger, the charger connects to the Battery terminal.

NOTE:

This unit does not have bluetooth communication. Consider the Smart Battery Protect model for a more easily configurable unit.

Description

The BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non essential loads before it is completely discharged (which
would damage the battery) or before it has insufficient power left to crank the engine.

12/24V auto ranging

The BatteryProtect automatically detects system voltage

Programming made easy

The BatteryProtect can be set to engage / disengage at several different voltages.
The seven segment display will indicate which setting has been chosen.

A special setting for Li-ion batteries

In this mode the BatteryProtect can be controlled by the VE.Bus BMS.
Note: the BatteryProtect can also be used as a charge interrupter in between a battery charger and a Li-ion
battery. See connection diagram in the manual.

Ultra low current consumption

This is important in case of Li-ion batteries, especially after low voltage shutdown.
Please see our Li-ion battery datasheet and the VE.Bus BMS manual for more information.

Over voltage protection

To prevent damage to sensitive loads due to over voltage, the load is disconnected whenever the DC voltage
exceeds 16V respectively 32V.

Ignition proof

No relays but MOSFET switches, and therefore no sparks.

Delayed alarm output

The alarm output is activated if the battery voltage drops below the preset disconnect level during more than
12 seconds. Starting the engine will therefore not activate the alarm. The alarm output is a short circuit proof
open collector output to the negative (minus) rail, max. current 50 mA. The alarm output is typically used to
activate a buzzer, LED or relay.

Delayed load disconnect and delayed reconnect

The load will be disconnected 90 seconds after the alarm has been activated. If the battery voltage increases
again to the connect threshold within this time period (after the engine has been started for example), the load
will not be disconnected.
The load will be reconnected 30 seconds after the battery voltage has increased to more than the preset
reconnect voltage.

Shipping

HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the contents of your cart and the shipping address. This takes into account product weight and dimensions, and whether the location being sent to is metro, regional or remote. The price will change depending on whether it is a commercial or residential address. There is an extra charge for items marked as *Dangerous Goods by the courier.

Please note, that we are currently using Freight Exchange as a freight broker. Their terms & conditions are listed here.

WHERE DO YOU SHIP?

We ship to most destinations in Australia. If the checkout does not allow your shipping address, please contact us and we will see what we can do to help.

WHO DO YOU SHIP WITH?

We use different couriers depending on rates and services available, including Border Express, Couriers Please and Australia Post. If you have a specific reason to use or not use a particular courier please let us know.

what about insurance?

We will generally insure any delivery above $500, BUT;

Freight damages MUST be reported to us within 24 hours of delivery for insurance claims on damages to be realised. Where possible please inspect the delivery for external damage to the packaging, and if damage is suspected inspect the goods BEFORE signing for the delivery.

Please refuse any obviously damaged deliveries (smashed panels, dented batteries) and ask the delivery driver to return the delivery to the depot and report the damages to us ASAP.

If you have granted “Authority to leave” or missed the driver, or have your delivery made to a depot, have the receiver inspect the delivery and please report any freight damage to us directly with photos via email within 24 hours of the delivery being made.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee damages will be covered by insurance if they are reported after 24 hours from the time of delivery.

How Long Does the shipping take?

It varies greatly based on the destination and the products ordered. Orders are usually dispatched from our warehouse in Preston, VIC within 48 hours. You can use the estimates below as a rough guide for shipping time:

  • VIC and SA: 1-2 days
  • QLD and NSW: 2-3 days
  • NT, WA and TAS: 3-10 days +

These estimates do not apply if the destination is regional or remote. Once orders leave our warehouse we have very little control over the actual shipping time. If you need a more accurate estimate of shipping time please contact us.
